The history of Cypress Homeschool Association:

In the spring of 2006, a Cypress mother wondered if other families like hers needed homeschooling support in Cypress. She placed an advertisement in the Fairfield and Cypress Mill newsletters, asking if any like-minded people might be interested in starting a home school support group in Cypress.

A few weeks later four women met in her living room to discuss their homeschooling views and needs, and Cypress Home School Association was born.

After promoting the group on the web, in local home school stores and at the Texas Home School Coalition conference in The Woodlands, CHA had a roomful of interested families by August. By December 2006, membership climbed to 50 families.

Now, four years after those four women began building a support group in a Cypress living room, CHA offers more than 150 families the activities and opportunities that encourage them to continue thriving in their own home school environments.
